***9/5/09: TEAM EXTREME IS POISED FOR

WORLD DOMINATION IN SUMMER 2010.

Sorry for typing in caps but it's that legit. At the last TEAM EXTREME gathering of the summer at the Sandy Hookers triathlon, LEMKENATOR, GILBERSHREDDA, CAVANAGHTOR, SENSISHREDDER, HAMILSHRED, MARTYSHRED, SHREDAHEENEY, AND SHREDAROONEY rolled with soul to an asburd extent. The previous night these warriors competed in the NORTH SOUTH tournament (and the ensuing revelry) yet woke up around 5:00am to represent the SLBP

CAVANAGHTOR captured the spirit of TEAM EXTREME as he wore a plastic green football helmet (as opposed to a bike helmet) during the race. Despite the best efforts of race officials, CAVANAGHTOR refused to STOP because of violating standard race procedure. HAMILSHRED and MARTYSHRED made it rain on the competition and threw down in their first ever triathlons.

<3 GILBERSHREDDA and SENISHREDDA <3 finished at the top as per usual and held hands during the cool down victory jog. Seasoned soul roller LEMKENATOR established himself as the fastest beach cruising rider in the nation. SHREDAHEENEY dropped his split times down like they were hot, as he rocked out hot pink speedowear. SHREDAROONEY threw up in his mouth a little bit during the race. LOOK OUT for TEAM EXTREME jerseys at races this year, and at triathlons in 2010!!!

roll with soul over and out- until next summer...

**August 27th: Team Extreme Jerseys are in thanks to John Senishredder!!!!

-$10 shirts for Team Extreme Members and Team Extreme Groupies

-$25 Asics Racing Jerseys for Team Extreme Elite

I'M WEARING MY TEAM EXTREME JERSEY WHILE TYPING THIS AND I CAN ATTEST TO THE LEGIT SOFTNESS AND SLEEKNESS OF THE DURABLE SWEAT-WICKING MATERIAL. THE OVERALL COMFORT OF THE SHIRT IS SERIOUSLY OVERWHELMING, IT'S LIKE A PANDA IS CONSTANTLY HUGGING ME. PEOPLE AT TACO BELL ASKED ME WHAT TEAM EXTREME IS, I ATE A VOLCANO TACO AND CHUGGED AN EXTRA LARGE MOUNTAIN DEW BAJA BLAST IN FRONT OF THEM AND TOLD THEM THAT THAT'S WHAT TEAM EXTREME IS!!!

BUY A SHIRT, WEAR IT IN FRONT OF YOUR MOM AND/OR FRIENDS, AND EXPLAIN TO THEM THAT YOU ARE KIND OF A BIG DEAL BECAUSE YOU ARE MORE EXTREME THAN THEM.

roll with soul over and out

August 10th: IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

*The last Team Extreme gathering of the summer will be this Saturday at Pier Village in Long Branch @ 6:40am. Meet at Shore Runner in Pier Village at 6:00am. Have a designated driver transport you if necessary. The distances for the sprint triathlon are about a 400 meter swim, 9.5 mile bike, and a 3 mile run. If you are a Spring Lake lifeguard there are no excuses for not coming out to throw down for this last race. This is real talk; such unacceptable excuses include but are not limited to the following:

1. I don't know what a triathlon is.

2. I don't have a bike.

3. I can't/don't know how to swim/bike/run.

4. I will probably still be inebriated at 6:30am.

5. I am scared that there are sharks in the ocean and I want my mommy now plz.

Registration for the race costs about $35- here's the link: http://www.raceforum.com/registration/eventdetail.aspx?e=304

The last practice of the summer today was quite emotional. A group of extreme warriors braved what looked to be a dark, impending storm on the 18 mile Asbury Park loop. While in Bradley Beach an intruding cyclist was reckless enough to try sneaking by us on Ocean Avenue. Emotionally unaffected by the extreme team wannabe, we passed him at such excessive speeds that the resulting draft winds almost blew him off his bike. He was inflicted with fear and was given a view of Team Extreme behinds that proceeded farther and farther from his sight. The ride was followed by a 2 mile hard sand run and a jetty swim. The ocean was roaring with violent terror as the sun set over the North End Pavillion, metaphorically representing how the sun is about to set on the dreams of everyone trying to beat Team Extreme this weekend. New extreme warriors Hamilshred and Millershred have really sweet hair, too sweet for helmets in fact. Rebel Warrior Martyshred forgot his goggles but did not forget to bring his "A game." The Extreme Team trained so hard this evening that the day decided to quit before we did; the sun cowered down with fear, unable to compete with the unyielding, shining passion of the warriors. Nuff' said dawg, it's time to roll with soul as per usual

July 27, 2009: The good news is that there's a sprint triathlon in our own backyard at Lake Como this Sunday at 7:00am; the bad news is that I just registered for it and it ended up costing $80. This is a ridiculous price for a sprint triathlon so I totally understand if I'm the only Extremey at the race (there's always the Sandy Hookers' Sprint Triathlon on August 15th if your looking to spend way less money). The consolation is that the proceeds go to an autism fund, there's gift certificate prizes for the top three overall and age group winners, and there's chip timing to get your exact splits.

Word on the street is that the race is close to selling out at 400 racers so if you're interested the registration link and info on the race can be found here:

*There will be an easy-going, epic exploration bike ride leaving from North End at 6:15 this Thursday after work; all bikes are welcome, especially beach cruisers!

ROLL WITH SOUL ALL DAY EVERY DAY
NO MATTER WHAT THE HATERS SAY

July 19, 2009: *Due to the awesome turnout at the ride after work this past Thursday, SL Triathlon Team Extreme has decided to move practices to Mondays and Thursdays after work at North End (this Monday's practice will be moved to Tuesday because of the Bradley tournament).

*If you want a Spring Lake Triathlon Team Extreme jersey see John Seniszyn if your from the South End side of town or Joe Rooney if your from the North End side; we will need to put your shirt size on a list by this Wednesday June 22

*Congrats to Dan O'Heney who got 8th place in his heat at the Sandy Hookers Sprint Triathlon this morning!!!!

*July 15, 2009:

*There will be a soulful bonding bike ride at 6:30pm tomorrow, Thursday July 16,  @ North End. This will give us a chance to assemble the troops, and to talk about the races this weekend (as well as the sweet Spring Lake triathlon jerseys that are being made thanks to Corinne and John!!)
